[…] On January 23rd I took the train down to a sea-side village called Conwy in Wales.  Conwy is a truly beautiful village which rests almost entirely inside the medieval city walls.  The ruined castle sits in the shadow of Snowdonia and on the brink of the bay.  The sounds of seagulls reminded me of my time growing up in Florida, but rugged mountains replaced long beaches and palm trees!  I spent the day seeing the sights before taking a train that evening to Wrexham, Wales where I was scheduled to preach on Sunday.  I stayed with a lovely couple who graciously hosted me for three nights while I was in Wales.  They, however, were both English transplants (the husband is the son of a one-eyed seaman – no joke) and I enjoyed many hours of conversation with them while I was there.  I walked around Wrexham on Saturday and spent quite a few hours preparing my sermons.  I have to say I was far more nervous this time that I was in the past but God was gracious and I think I was faithful.  If you’d care to listen to those sermons you can find them here.
